“We are so grateful for the recliner you provided for our grandfather Boris. He has Parkinson disease and suffers frequent tremors and often feels very uncomfortable. We tried many things to accommodate his needs. Your recliner works miracle! Our grandfather loved it from the first try. He enjoys it tremendously. We thank you!”

Aug 18, 2018-Oh sweet child, as you nap here next to me, it breaks my heart 💔when I think about how you have been abandoned in your life.
Your birth mother didn’t care for you. You have lived in an orphanage for most of your life, where you have been treated as a number, not a precious child. You have never had things to call your own, because in an orphanage someone can take anything away from you at any time. You have never had any parents to call yours, just nannies that have so many kids to care for that they never had the time to show you the love of a mother. You had so much anger towards me until you began to realize that I was different then every other woman in your life. As I kiss your sweet sleeping face, I know that this peace will not last for long. Soon you will wake again and you may have another tantrum of anger at something that you cannot explain. Usually a burst of anger that means that you don’t know how else to explain what you are feeling. But we have made great progress. You come running to me for hugs, and occasionally I get a quiet “I love you” as you are running the other way. I hope that I have been a good influence on you. The influence of the mother you never had. My prayer will continue to be for God to guide you in learning to love. This process has been a roller coaster to say the least. But you, my sweet child have made me have a love for u that I never thought I could. ❤️ I pray that God never leave your side. It is absolutely AMAZING to see how much these kids have changed in just a matter of a couple of weeks. A little love and attention makes a world of difference in each life and their faces are absolutely glowing with joy and contentment. Thank you again for opening up your hearts and homes to those in need. May God continue to bless your families!
Please visit our Facebook page for more pics. When we hear of orphan hosting, usually our first thought is about what a great opportunity it is for the orphaned child. We tend to think about how awesome it would be for them to experience family life, but we sometimes forget about the many benefits to our families as well. Many of our families have lived a pretty sheltered life and we haven’t faced the struggles that these kids are facing at a very young age. Our children have very little knowledge about the struggles of kids in other countries. Many of them think that our current life standards are the norm around the world. Hosting opens up a whole new world for us that we would otherwise never see. We learn to think less of ourselves and open up our hearts to the needs of those around us.
This is Julia’s story: For the past five years, we have been blessed with the opportunity to be a hosting family for Ukrainian orphans. Each year we took that step in faith that God will use our family to further His kingdom through these kids. We have hosted girls and a boy, ages ranging from 8 to 17. Just as we believe we have been a blessing to those children, we also see how they have affected our family and have been a blessing to us. Our own children have learned to be less selfish and more open to people around them and their problems. We have also seen how God uses other people to be a part of this project through financial support when they can't be a host family. We strongly feel that these children need families to show them love and support. For many of them, this project provides the only family they will ever have, even if that family is thousands of miles away. They thrive having someone care for them and provide support over the phone or social media. We pray that God will open more hearts to become a part of this wonderful project and we can't wait to hear more testimonies about what these kids experienced. |
